ELEVENTH IN LINE

About This Blog
A blog about my life, universe, etc. At any given time you might find something endlessly interesting or just me ruminating on something else, which no one (not even myself) finds interesting. That's the way blogs go, I suppose. Anyway, I was eleventh in line, and you weren't. Hah!

About My Family
My mom is a
lawyer in Pickerington; my stepdad and dad are computer guys, and my stepmom (who works with my dad) is an engineer. My sisters are, in order of age, a photographer, an artist, and a person too young to have her own website. My brothers are, in order of age, living up north, and again, a person too young to have a website. At some point soon I'll be collecting links for my aunts, uncle, and cousins. ^_^

A partial solution
Is at hand!

In response to the crisis of inactivity I have recently discovered in my personal life (again I say, argh), I decided I should behave logically, i.e. become more active. Now, I was all ready to do an Excel spreadsheet with goals and stuff, ala NaNoWriMo. But then, I did a little Google searching, and found the perfect thing. It's a lot like the Congressional Award program, except that you don't have to be under 24, and it's just for physical activity (the Congressional Award includes citizenship, outdoor adventure, and "personal development" requirements). It's got a similar structure: first a "certificate" type of level (which I'm doing now), and then three medal levels. All the stuff you do at the first level counts towards the later medals, which is a good way of motivating me to do more than just 30 minutes of moderate activity (e.g. today I did an hour), and to not take two days off *every* week if possible.

Anyway, we shall see if this is successful or not for me. I like getting awards, and I like earning points in things, and I actually *want* to increase my physical activity, so I'm feeling rather optimistic!

Because only so many people can be eleventh in line.
