ELEVENTH IN LINE

About This Blog
A blog about my life, universe, etc. At any given time you might find something endlessly interesting or just me ruminating on something else, which no one (not even myself) finds interesting. That's the way blogs go, I suppose. Anyway, I was eleventh in line, and you weren't. Hah!

So, here's another update for those of you who really really want to know the crummy little details of my life.

First off, I've now worked in Strollers. That's fun, especially when you get to talk to the little kids. I wish there was a job at Disneyland that consisted of nothing but chatting up the little kids, because I'm telling you, I'd be REALLY good at it. They're so cool. Anyway, I also got to drive the electric convenience vehicles, which is fun (it'd be more fun if I could have used the special red key, which seems to make the carts go twice as fast). Oddly enough, DL was very crowded on the night of the Superbowl (yesterday for you who, like me, didn't quite pay attention to the pro football season this year). I don't pretend to understand anything.

Flashback is going well so far; I have rehearsals tonight and tomorrow. I can't wait to perform in the Hyperion! Tonight I'm going to see "Aladdin" (the stage version) at DCA (its in the Hyperion too); I've heard really good things about it. Oh, and I've got a ticket to see "Chicago" at Downtown Disney on Thursday -- the last free cast screening. You get 30% off of a meal at the resort hotels that night when you show your ticket -- sounds like it's time for me to finally go and eat at Goofy's (which normally costs $27!!!!) like I've been meaning to.

In other news... uh... I have to tape Stargate, and wash my clothes. So I'll catch y'all later. Oh, I'm working on a Snape fic for Riddikulus, I'll update here when it's done.

Okay, I feel better now. ^_^ Yay!

I got to do image censoring at Splash Mountain yesterday for TWO HOURS. Word to the wise: if you want to be able to buy your picture (or even look at it), don't try flashing the camera (yes, this applies to the men as well), and follow all the safety rules (stay seated, keep shirt/shoes/pants on, don't have your child in your lap, etc.)

I am also happy to report that NO ONE KNOWS WHERE THE BATHROOMS ARE IN DISNEYLAND. I got stopped THREE times just on my way to lunch (if I get assigned to Critter Country again, I'm BRINGING a lunch so I can hide backstage!) to get asked this question.

Oh, and I don't have any kind of a special role in "Flashback" (the cast musical) but I AM in it. Stay tuned for updates -- and family members take note, I will soon be rehearsing such gems as "She Blinded Me With Science" and a song from "Captain EO" (Caroline, ask your dad or mom about it, because it's from before your time)...

Okay, fine, I give up. The 'normal' Sarah is apparently on vacation, and trying to be her is getting tiresome (it also isn't working). I am therefore giving myself official license to act in a peculiar or abnormal fashion for the duration. Things will probably return to normal at some point, when acting like I normally do isn't quite as hard as it is right now.

Ahh, pain. There's nothing quite like the kind that comes from reviewing your past mistakes. I was just re-reading some truly nasty emails I sent about 23 months ago (February, 2001) to people who I had counted as good friends. I pretty much single-handedly destroyed about a dozen solid friendships with various people in that incident. I have no idea what the heck was wrong with me. So, anyway, it's a good thing I can sleep in tomorrow, and wallow in self-recriminations!

In other news, I don't think I'm going to try that 5 week semester thing. Semesters are 16 weeks long for a reason, and I want to get a good start at Disneyland. The fact that the course is closed out (i.e., it's full) has a lot to do with it, but I figure it's better to decide NOW than two weeks into the course. I did a good thing today, though -- I emailed my old academic advisor at Ohio State, asking him exactly what needs to happen in order for me to get my degree. Oddly, my Ohio State email address still works. I'm not complaining, it's just odd since it's been over a year since the last time I was actively enrolled in a class there...

Wow, so it's been a week, and it's a whole new year. I'm sure you've heard this before, but we've got 109 years until the next palindromic year comes about, so I hope you enjoyed it while you had the chance.

In other news, I need to seriously rethink how I do the Pasadena Rose Parade viewing thing. Next year, I need to come better equipped. And I need to, I think, not be sick and sleep-deprived. I slept until 10pm and all my body rhythms are messed up now...

In a few hours, I go to my "turning in social security card type information" meeting at Disneyland. I can't wait to work there. If they change their minds, I will be seriously depressed for like, days.

My sister finally updated her blog! A lot! Go see it, she's linked on my Friends page. I'm thinking of moving my friends links to the main page though, since it turns out that NO ONE that I know actually has a blog. Maybe I'll start linking to interesting blogs, instead.
